As a young entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges of starting a business and the value of having access to resources and mentorship. Leadership
Shreya, founder of ULaunch and a young entrepreneur, is passionate about empowering young minds to turn their ideas into reality. Having experienced firsthand the challenges of starting a business and the value of having access to resources and mentorship, she is committed to helping underserved high school students in North Carolina and beyond bring their innovative ideas to life through an interactive program that provides the necessary support to get their ideas off the ground.
Inspired by her childhood trip to India at age 10 and witnessing widespread flip-flop use, Shreya was alarmed by the discomfort caused by straps leading to painful blisters. This concern heightened as she realized that millions around the world, especially those with diabetes, suffered from dorsal foot ulcers due to strap pressure, which could lead to significant health problems. In response, she developed a patent-pending solution—a rolled inner seam for the straps—that reduces pressure and prevents these issues. At 12, Shreya founded Surfsyde (www.surfsyde.com), offering stylish and comfortable flip-flops designed to prioritize foot health and alleviate strap-related concerns.
